On September 24, Chuseok Holiday, Brazilian missionaries living in Seoul prepared a warm fellowship gathering, bringing a taste from home to Korea.

Members of the Olive Tree organization and other Korean missionaries came together to enjoy an evening of Brazilian food and fellowship. The table was filled with delicious traditional dishes such as coxinha (chicken croquettes), empadão (savory chicken pie), caldo de feijão (Brazilian black bean soup), and pão de queijo (cheese bread), followed by Brazilian sweets including brigadeiro (chocolate truffles), beijinho (coconut truffles), and chocolate and carrot cakes.

But the gathering was about more than food. In the room, kindly provided by Soomang Church, new connections were made, stories were shared, and conversations flowed across different languages and cultures.

As the evening continued, the group came together for a special time of praise, prayer, and sharing words of gratitude. Taking place during the Chuseok holiday, the gathering became a beautiful meeting point between Brazilian and Korean culture, different Christian backgrounds, and people brought together by a shared faith.

We are thankful for our Lord’s constant care and faithfulness, and for the beautiful and unexpected ways He brings people together. In Seoul, surrounded by different cultures, languages, and traditions, we were reminded that we are all part of one family in Christ, serving His Kingdom together!
